This
traditional fishing village first appeared in the census in
1864 as "Baline". Consisting of high rocky cliffs
and steep hills, its scenic coastline offers adventure to
phtographers, nature lovers and artists.
The
"Big Hill" is 999 feet above sea level. In 1942,
5 residents of Bauline took to the water to rescue a pilot
from a Royal Canadian Air Force Hawker Hurricane Fighter plane
which had crashed into the frigid water. |
